Friction

Werewolves make very bad neighbors.  They party all hours and eat drugs like popcorn.  This one has been up for a week and is ill natured.  They do not respect property or take responsibility for anything.  They are on the increase.  If you run or back down to them in anyway, you are doomed.       The Martello tower on the hill overlooks the Colorado, and was built by the Polk administration to repel the Mexican navy.  It cost over 2 million in 1840's dollars before it was discovered that the Colorado is unnavigable in any weather.

Strike Three!

Again with the beheadings.  I decided to post a late night sketch that seemed brilliant at the time.  This drawing means nothing and is really a cry for help.  Fuck it, post anyway.

Sunset, The Shadows Lengthen.

I have been digging a sweat lodge.  Because the Texas summers are so hot and I am outside so much this is a project which is very much on the back burner.  I am already unimpressed with my own "artwork", and I had to go and discover the Amulet series by Kazu Kibuishi.  An artistic genius who can write.  Highest recommendations.

A Wonderful May Morn!

Tai Chi Saturday.  I am somewhat confident in the Long Form, and when I do even some of it with grace I feel wonderful.  This is the greatest excercise I've ever done, and I was High School Swim team for 4 years.  I spent the evening yesterday reading about Musashi Miyamoto and was slashing imaginary opponents with my air-sword every 5 minutes.  I love samurai stories and am not particuarly upset about WWII, anymore.  Tenno Hakka Banzai!      I need to add that I am well aware that Tai Chi is not Japanese, but Chinese.  That has nothing to do with it and as a typical American southerner, I would be hard put to identify either one on a map.

Pogrom

The ill feelings toward our people came to a head, fanned by radio and television propaganda broadcasts.  An industrial magnate began to distribute "The Protocols of the Elder Rabbits", a murderous forgery that saw many of us killed.  We hit back hard, and after a few high profile assassinations and our policy of immediate retaliation took effect, we split off from the Carns.  Never again!

Another Year Older

Late night fear.  Decay of the Angel.  The centre cannot hold.  A grown man drawing anthro rabbits and such.  Why don't the ladies talk to me?

Grief

I am missing a favorite cat.  I am very worried.  I am just heart-broken right now.  Please God send her home safe.

It's no go my honey love, it's no go my poppet;       Work your hands from day to day, the winds will blow the profit.       The glass is falling hour by hour, the glass will fall for ever,       But if you break the bloody glass you won't hold up the weather.                                                                        Louis Macneice

Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien

May 7, 1954.  All the rest of the French positions at Dien Bien Phu have fallen.  Night is falling on strongpoint "Isabelle", a fire base a few miles south of the main camp.  Isabelle will have to be overwhelmed, but there will be a breakout.  About 80 of these guys will get to Laos, with only one being european, a Polish legionaire.  Isabelle was established to execute fire missions to protect the camp proper.  It was a quagmire before the battle started.  As bad as this turned out to be, on the other side of the Nam Yung was a company position that was underwater, all the time.  Strongpoint Wieme didn't have the luxury of barbed wire, just sharpened bamboo.  This was there to cover the secondary airport, which was put out of action the first day.  Isabelle was commanded by an exceptional officer name of Col. Lalande, who made his men dig deep.      This was a big waste of some very brave Soldiers.

Honoring His Father, Unto Death

Here Hannibal Barca (Lightning Bolt) swears eternal enmity to Rome, as his inplacable father looks on.  They are sealing the deal by burning an infant on the knees of the god Baal, or Melkart.  We have never had to go to war with anyone near as competent as Hannibal, although an argument can be made for the Ho Chi Minh/Vo Nguyen Giap combination.  They were not on our soil, however, and a good thing too 'cause we would all be speaking Vietnamese now.      Hannibal fucked Rome up and it is a riot to read the Romans talking about Carthaginian perfidy and cruelty.  If he had had any cooperation from the ruling class at home he would have wiped Rome out of the history books.  One of these two powers had to go.  In this case it was a nation versus a city-state and the Romans prevailed.  Horribly.
