Busy All Day, Redone

My brother redid this and sent it to me.   Quite the difference, I think.  Originally posted May 26, 2019.

Inconvenient Habits

Image
I fail the first impression. A tail subdued. Arena. Tenzing Norgay.  Ever vigilant. The Dreamer and the Drudge. Oh, you may go now.  “It is a very inconvenient habit of kittens (Alice had once made the remark) that, whatever you say to them, they always purr.” Lewis Carroll

Insoluble Problems

Any attempt to get around my lack of a scanner is met with defeat.  I colored this horrible drawing in order to keep the paper from coming out blue, a real flaw with this camera with no explanation for it at all. Goddamn it.

An Immortal Poem

Image
The  Antiseptic Baby and the Prophylactic Pup  Were playing in the garden when the Bunny gamboled up;  They looked upon the Creature with a loathing undisguised;—  It wasn't Disinfected and it wasn't Sterilized.    They said it was a Microbe and a Hotbed of Disease;          They steamed it in a vapor of a thousand-odd degrees;  They froze it in a freezer that was cold as Banished Hope  And washed it in permanganate with carbolated soap.    In sulphurated hydrogen they steeped its wiggly ears;  They trimmed its frisky whiskers with a pair of hard-boiled shears;    They donned their rubber mittens and they took it by the hand  And elected it a member of the Fumigated Band.    There's not a Micrococcus in the garden where they play;  They bathe in pure iodoform a dozen times a day;  And each imbibes his rations from a Hygienic Cup—    The Bunny and the Baby and the Prophylactic Pup.   Arthur Guiterman, Strictly Germ-Proof  @sdavis.art on Instagra

Pity Kitty

Image
One of the kittens I have been saddled with, silently pleading with me not to have him killed before he has even tasted life.  I am at my wit's end what to do with these 5 most adorable white elephants I have ever had dropped into my sorry ass resourceless lap. I  really screwed up in my past life, I should not have repudiated that Versailles treaty and then invaded Poland.  Geez, Louise ,...everyone makes mistakes! Title suggested by Andibi, who actually owned some of these.   Achtung!  Sad cat! https://www.deviantart.com/andibi Don't blame me...anymore. (Bonus Joke)! Me:  Hey, Andy! Andibi:  What is it now, Billy? I'm trying to draw. Me:  What did the German Shepherd say for himself at the Nuremberg Trials? Andibi:  You do know it's rabbit season, Billy.  You do know that. Me: You'll really like this one, Andy.  The dog said, ... ha ha ha!... the dog said, - I vas only following

Usagi Yojimbo

Image
Usagi Yojimbo, panel from The Hidden. The Hidden. Cover art, The Hidden. Sasuke, demon hunter, versus the Queen Witch.  From Yokai. Fluid and dramatic. Elegant. Traditional. Cinematic. Stan Sakai is the beggest talent in comics today. Master of visual balance.   Abayo.

Spider Jerusalem Sez -

Image
Transmetropolitan, #46. 8/1/2001  Helix, then Vertigo Comics, D.C.  I think the comic flawed but very original, this is Spider Jerusalem, far too obviously based on Hunter Thompson.   This could have been another AD 2000.  The city is much more interesting than the story. This stuff is pure gold.  The Sex Puppets. One of your better literary cats.  He chainsmokes Russian cigarettes and has a poor attitude in general. Many people think this predicted the 'Rise of Trump'.  Those same people believe that journalism today is a profession requiring courage and honesty.  Spider is allowed to continue living while being a one man anti - government gadfly.  This is pure fantasy. Well worth reading. https://readcomiconline.to/Comic/Transmetropolitan/Issue-1?id=14161 Enjoy.

Fatal Indiscretion

Image
Goya, Fantastic Vision. Rudolf Wendelin, Smokey Bear.        In both of these a being in red is above and to the right shoulder of the improbable brown central figure.  Both show mysterious creatures pointing at massive stand alone rocks.  Both of them use smoke and landscape as theme.  Both have small figures in the right hand bottom with their back turned to the viewer, and both have middle distance groups of humans looking towards the far away rocks. .When the Masons find out I discovered this I'm done for!   ( There is also a chipmunk in the bottom picture, chipmunks are a traditional omen of disaster in Maine and other eldritch places.  There are no chipmunks in Spain, Franco had them all rounded up).    A New Order of the Ages. I am like so screwed.
