Bunny By Moonlight

Image
Flamma thinks he looks even better at night, if looking better than he does is at all possible.  Plus the crowd was assured that this was the end of the rabbit, and now that panther is being dragged away by the wolves dressed as Charon.  Flamma takes time to switch his tail at the angry audience, the worst insult a bunny can offer.  They miss the significance of this, thinking he is taunting them with how sexy he is.  And, of course, he is. Flamma feels sorry for anyone who isn't him.

Overmatched

I drew this as my half of an art challenge .  I thought this was dull, so I tried again.   While flawed like all my drawings I think this is much better. The lion. The other half of the trade.  Tremendous artwork by - Khasdannyanlord All's well that ends well!

Deal With It, The Bunny Said

August, 2018.  Good, fair, and weak, the triad of descriptors that dog all cartoonists.  Fit, deadly rabbit, fatally surprised bear or some damn thing, difficult and unlikely overhand thrust action. What matters if a drawing's lame,  As form and nothing are the same? If my Furs give you the colic, Then go jerk off to Jackson Pollock. Wasn't that fun?

Pruriently Pragmatic

General Flamma is not known as the Red Rabbit without cause.  He has just taken a recalcitrant city that killed the ambassadors of New Rome and defied the Empire to do it's worst.  After a lightning campaign the General's legionnaires overwhelmed the city and put the inhabitants to the sword.  General Flamma regards the camera with customary detachment as the son of the late king clings to the rabbit, who spared his life.  It has been a hard few weeks in the field and Flamma deserves some R and R.  When he is finished with the boy he will give him to his troops, just because there is a no prisoners policy in place does not mean one has to rush things!

Fun With Billy

Today I watched 20 back to back episodes of Crusader Rabbit.  That would twist anyone, never mind me.  Who wants a roofie? Aw, c'mon, C. R., ya can't be one of the gang unless you do roofies! Alright! Now wasn't that great? (Original Crusader Rabbit studio drawings c. 1950) https://misterscribbles.blogspot.com/2020/01/crusader-rabbit.html   Bunnies just want to have fun.

Crusader Rabbit

Image
Crusader Rabbit, first aired August 1st, 1950. Crusader is the world's first cartoon series made for television.  Alex Anderson, nephew of Paul Terry, came up with the idea.  Jay Ward is part of this, huge surprise there.  It was filmed on a very low budget and has little animation, mostly still shots and camera pans making up the bulk of the cartoon.  Here Crusader is about to demonstrate his lack of superpowers. https://cartoonresearch.com/index.php/the-hare-raising-tales-of-crusader-rabbit/ https://youtu.be/ujFWZrs6pow Ragland T. Tiger, Crusader's partner and best friend.  The 'T' stands for 'the'.  When asked about it, Rags would tell people his middle name was Larry but his dad couldn't spell!  Rags is none too bright and is the beginning of a long tradition of dopey cartoon sidekicks. This is a cast photo, I cannot find out who is who in this.  But never mind that, what is this picture behind the bar?

Hellbun

Billy D. Bunny as Hellboy.  That's his dad, Azzael, to your left.  Mike Mignola is such an awesome artist and writer that I gotta nerve drawing this, but I do have a nerve.  Hellboy's mom is a witch who repented as she lay dying, she was then put into a chained up coffin and something happens about that later on.  Just to show that I play fair here is Mr. Mignola's picture of father and son having some quality time together, allowing the alert viewer to discern the slight differences in my fanart from his wildly successful comic as to technique and ability, therein. Hellboy and Azzael, Mike Mignola, and pretty fucking good at that. https://hellboy.fandom.com/wiki/Azzael Several artists have illustrated Hellboy but the two that I like best after Mike Mignola are Richard Corben and P. Craig Russell, both of whom greatly contributed to my eventual adult instability, irresponsible outlook, and permanent escape into a world of fantastic pictures as render

Pageviews last month - 666* Just a matter of time, I suppose.  Picture drawn August 16, 1987, the world wide Harmonic Convergence.  'Old Wine, New Bottles'. William Blake, The Number Of The Beast Is 666 c. 1805 *About the Number of the Beast - there are many very clever solutions to this, Anthony Burgess had an explanation using Latin that was an acrostic for 'Ceasar is killing all the Christians' or something like that, I can't find it at the moment.  Others say that it is numerology, or that the number reads 'Neron Kesar', allegedly Hebrew for Nero Ceasar.  Revelations seems to have been written c. 95 AD, so that would be kinda pointless, the emperor would have been Domitian.  Tradition has it that he heavily persecuted Jews and Christians, but there is no record of this.  Domitian got the chop in 96 anyway. The best 'explanation' I can find is that 6 was considered an imperfect number, as it was not 7, a sacred number.

The Tower. The Tower is a symbol for the ambition that is constructed on faulty premises. The destruction of the tower must happen in order to clear out the old ways and welcome something new. Its revelations can come in a flash of truth or inspiration.  https://labyrinthos.co/blogs/tarot-card-meanings-list/the-tower-meaning-major-arcana-tarot-card-meanings The Hanged Man I have to abandon the online guides here, none of them agree with each other.  This card represents knowledge gained through voluntary sacrifice, and is a direct reference to Odin and Yggdrasil. This method of execution was common during the Quattrocentto, in Italy, for traitors.  The person thus displayed was allowed all the food and drink he wanted. 'Traitor' meant whatever those in charge said it meant.    aztlanwayne https://misterscribbles.blogspot.com/2020/01/fuera-del-sur.html Once again I have been trusted to display this great artist's work.  He
