November 9, 1946.  Warner Brother's release Rhapsody Rabbit, Bugs Bunny playing Franz Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 in a concert hall.   After shooting a coughing member of the audience, the rabbit demonstrates his amazing virtuosity. But a small problem develops.    April 26, 1947.  MGM releases The Cat Concerto, with Tom giving a concert performance of Franz Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2. Tom plays beautifully, but... ...a small problem develops. “It was at a screening for the Oscar nominees.  We [Cat Concerto] played first.  When it came on, people were laughing like hell, and when the lights came on, Freleng was mad as hell.  Then it [Rabbit Rhapsody] played, and the action was similar:  Bugs walked up in the tailcoat, flipped it up, sat down, warmed up the hands, looking arrogant, all exactly the same.  In ours, Tom, the cat, disturbs the mouse, and in his, Bugs, the rabbit, disturbs the mouse. As usual, it's the Rabbits that are the problem.  An old story.    Bastards. The Lapines are thorough. These two are playing by the rules.  Court-martial a'coming! A rare action scene.  For such a theme there is not much fighting shown in this comic.  Exceptional art and writing but a dearth of action. Models kick ass. 1986, Blackthorne Publishing.  Blackthorne was in business from 1985 to 1990, they put out a 3-D adaption of Michael Jackson's moonwalker and the resultant (should have known better) disaster folded them under.  Too bad, this was a good imprint.  Tales of the Jackalope is by Robert L. Crab. An inspiration for Hybrid Online.  Fantographics, 1985 - 1990. A shame that this went under, I like Mr. Crab's art and writing.  But then again, the Texas Jackalope is what all of us regular rabbits aspire to be.  Perhaps someday... Alas, it will never be.  Nature don't work that way! Achtung, Wolpertinger ! Albrecht Durer.  1502 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wolpertinger
