The Boy In The Box

Nearly 66 years after the battered body of a young boy was found stuffed inside a cardboard box, Philadelphia police say they have finally unlocked a central mystery in the city’s most notorious cold case: The victim’s identity - Joseph Augustus Zarelli.  (December 9 2022).


February 25th, 1957.  Discovered next to Susquehanna Road, Fox Chase, by a man checking his game traps, he did not report him out of fear of the game laws.  Finally, the cops got involved.  Why the man did not do his clear civic responsibility I have no idea.  Fox Chase is part of Philadelphia.


How could this have happened.


Someone knows who this is.  He would only be a few years older than me.  But my parents loved me and did not beat me to death and leave my body by the side of the road.  There is a very good chance that we can find these scumbags and let them live out the rest of their sorry lives in a state prison.



We, America, need to move on this.  We  can find these killers.  It is possible that they are in their late seventies and still within reach. 
 Someone knows who did this.   There have been many leads in this case, with one looking really good, but none have been authenticated or proven.  One interesting angle was that the boy was a Hungarian immigrant whose parents were fleeing the 1956 trouble.  A photo of the boy looked exactly like him.  A detective sifted through 12,000 passport photos and located the family.  Their boy was very much alive.

 His name will be added.

I know that this is just one of very many.  But I want them all found out, and this case is a good starting point.  
  Oh, God, but this is sad.

Two Sides Of The Same Coin

 It was a lovely day in November.  At least Tom thought it was November, the air was crisp and cool and it felt Novemberish.  There were no calenders here, while he had a clock he rarely looked at it.  He never had to be anywhere at any particular time in any event, when he had to be somewhere he always showed up on time, if that's the word for it.  Anyway, it was a nice Fall day.
