Oh, Oobee Doo - I Wanna Be Like You!
Captain Richard Sharpe seizes another fortress, Spain, 1813. Billy D Bunny as Sean Bean as Richard Sharpe, the rifleman who saved Lord Wellington's life and was promoted to officer rank, making him an outcast among enlisted men and officers alike. Sharpe is smart and ferocious, a discipline problem who is worth his weight in gold to the army.
Sean Bean from the Sharpe's Rifle series. Bernard Cornwell, Author. This show whups ass.
The Riflemen, nicknamed grasshoppers by the French, wore green jackets. They served during the Napoleonic Wars, from 1799 to 1815. The riflemen were trained to work in open order and to be able to think for themselves. They were to operate in pairs ahead of the main infantry as skirmishers. They were taught to make best use of natural cover and to harass the enemy with aimed shots. These tactics, which had originated in campaigns in North America, were unorthodox for the time. The French also had light skirmishers, the Tirailleurs and the Voltigeurs.
To aid
speed and mobility, the Rifles used bugles to transmit commands rather
than the drums used by Line infantry and for the same reason did not
carry Colors. This is the cap badge and shako of the 95th Rifles, Sharpe's Regiment.
I already have the boots.
