Image
Today I am going to put up three videos by Cyriak.  He claims that is his real name, and he used to live in Brighton.  This guy is something else. Finally, Finally, I Learned How To Use Paint

Image
This is one of my best bunny drawing but it was so sexually graphic that every time I have posted it somewhere else I usually take it down when I come to the next day.  It is one of my favorite drawings of Billy and I do not seem to be able to follow up on this.  Well sir, today I got on Paint and made myself learn the most basic fucking thing about it, which is how to crop and edit.  Now I have a picture of this lighthearted scamp of a bunny that would be suitable for kindergarten walls! Isn't this one cute rabbit?

Tenggren

Image
Gustav Tenggren, 1896-1970. When I was a kid I read his Golden Books but the real kicker was his illustrations for the Arabian Nights.  I was about 8 when given that marvelous book. And I still have it. Sinbad introduces wine to the Old Man of the Sea.  Just look at those trees and marvel! Sinbad just cannot stay out of trouble. Aladdin and his evil uncle.  Why is it always the uncle? Careful with those old lamps. Morgana was more than a match for the forty thieves.  And hot! Concept art for Pinocchio.  He worked alongside of Martin Provensen and many other greats.   Are you sure you want to be real?  Watch this link and realize how terrifying even Disney could be. https://youtu.be/pnamFerzNvw Anthro foxes are not to be trusted.  I saw this movie when I was five or so. ...

Rodia

Image
Sabato "Simon" Rodia Spent 30 years building the Watts Towers, which he called Nuestra Pueblo.  These lovely structures are located in one of the worst crime areas in the U.S. A masterpiece of engineering and found art. Cement and re-bar. The ultimate accolade. There is no such thing as "outsider" art. After 30 years, tired of the continuous hassle with L.A. and the neighbors, Rodia moved in with his sister and never returned to the towers.  When the city tried to tear them down the crane broke at 10,000 lbs. of pull.   These things have influenced modern architectural safety. Only in America.  Arrivederci, Signore!

Leedskalnin

Image
\ Born in Latvia in 1887, he was jilted by his bride to be and came to the United States, working in lumber.  He bought a small plot of land in Florida, and there he showed the world a never matched before or since engineering and artistic marvel. Coral Castle. This is 2000 tons of coral he quarried and moved by himself.  No one ever saw how he did this.  When asked, Edward would tell the person that he understood how the pyramids were built.  I believe him. This nine ton stone gate would move if a child pushed it.  It had to be repaired and does not work as well as when built.  It was supported on a truck axle bearing and that is what gave out, not the gate itself.  It had to be dismantled to replace the bearing and it took a lot of guys and machines to do so.  Ed lived in the second story of this structure of 240 tons of coral.  It is furnished with all coral furniture.  In 1936 ...

Two More From Graffo

Meaning?  There is no meaning to be found on this site, just drawings. Wait- perhaps there is some meaning here.  Still, just a drawing.  But I think a very good one!   steve @_livingdog - Instagram

Fursuits And Such Throughout History

Image
Bal des Ardents, dance of the burning ones.   January 28, 1393, Charles VI of France, along with five other nobles, are covered in tar and flax, to portray wildmen.  A spectator moves too close with a torch, and the men are ablaze.  The spectator was the king's brother, the Duc d'Orleans.  Torches and all fire had been forbidden, but the brother, drunk, pushed his way in.   The fifteen year old Joan, Duchess de Berry, throws her skirt over the king and saved his life.  The only other survivor was the Sieur de Nantouillet who jumped into an open barrel of wine.   The king was already crazy as hell and seems to have been a paranoid schizophrenic.  The French people saw this as a judgment and it further deteriorated the trust in the court.  Charles had already attacked and killed four of his officers while going to war, thought he was made of glass and wandered the court, naked, howling like a wolf.  Poe used this incident...
