Living among the Travis County river peoples stressed out my delicate, artistic soul. A lot. From 2013.

Sun Bun Fun

It's Spring Break!  Billy has decided to go to the wharf and practice his Tai Chi, the backyard would work just fine but there is nobody to appreciate such a handsome and fit rabbit.  Billy always looks out for others. Oh, and he doesn't know Tai Chi.

Dizzie napping.  I saw this picture and wrote Chaosfive-55 and gave him an altered first line of the poem Polaris, one of H. P. Lovecraft's nightmarish stories- Slumber, Kitty, till the spheres... He wrote back with this- Slumber, Dizzie, till the spheres Six and twenty thousand years Have revolv'd, and I return To the spot where now I burn. Other stars anon shall rise To the axis of the skies; Stars that soothe and stars that bless With a sweet forgetfulness: Only when my round is o'er Shall you scratch upon my door. I think this is awesome.  It is always a great pleasure to talk with someone who shares interests with me, and Lovecraft just cannot be more interesting.  Chaos gets every single reference I bring up, no matter how obscure or barely tangent.  This marvelous cat moved on not too long ago, and while I never knew her I feel I did because of all the photos posted of her.  Dizzie was loved, folks, something so few cats get, and all deser...

Some Damn Thing, Finally

Today I finished taking a long dead tree in the backyard down.  It has been very cold for 3 weeks here, and I have drawn nothing in that time.  This has been on my desk and I just could not motivate myself to do anything with it.  Believe me, I realize what a rut I'm in.  One problem is being stuck with typewriter size paper, anything larger and I have no way of putting it online.  I bought a good axe and it turns out I should have bought a good bowsaw.  But, I like owning tools and my last axe was borrowed by a person who let it get stolen.  Oh, well, at least I finished something, time to climb back on the horse and try again. Never lend out tools or comics.

Time Out For Flamma

Image
It seems the the Emperor Domitian II had bet heavy on a certain fighter and the owner of Flamma assured him the slave would take a fall.  With savage threats the lanista got the sullen retiarius to agree.  When the fight started, our bunny killed his opponent within seconds.  When the referees came to scourge him, he slew one and the other died a few hours later.   Far too valuable to be killed or maimed, the Bloody Bunny awaits his next fight.   Due to time considerations, I left out the two wolf legionnaires arguing about who was going to unchain the rabbit, and why does he have that goddamn trident?  Now the rabbit meditates on his sins and thinks on how he can aspire to be a more developed person. Fear us.

Arcade

My introduction to the Furry world.  I had never seen 'funny animal' comics presented as adult fare.  Robert Crumb and his brother Charles grew up on anthro comics and it sure made an impression on them.  This irreverent take on kid's comics sure made an impression on me!    Here for your viewing pleasure, Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you:   Jippo and Boopsy, Those Cute Little Bearzy-Wearzies - in - Ain't It Nice?   I started college that fall, to say the least this sort of thing made me unsuited for study (and Lubbock).  Oh, but I studied all right... comics!      From Arcade # 1, Spring 1975 https://youtu.be/EjBnqIVpOcU   Arcade # 6, the immortal Kim Deitch   Mickey Rat, Robert Armstrong.  Arcade # 6.  This cartoon has been on my mind ever since I read it.   https://misterscribbles.blogspot.com/
