A Dynastic Sunset

This book has nothing to do with this article except for the cover illustration, which is certainly inspired by this guy- See what I mean? Fritz von Erich When I was growing up and watching wrestling in Dallas, this was the guy we were rooting for.  This is Jack Adkinsson,  aka Fritz von Erich, aka the Iron Claw.   I always dug his clean cut Marine Infantry Officer/ Obergruppenfuhrer approach. The von Erich boys.  Kerry, Fritz, Kevin, Chris (in front) Mike and David. Except for Kevin, they are all dead.  Jack Jr. was electrocuted by an electric fence in 1959 at the age of 7.  Here is an article that can tell this far better than I can- http://www.retroist.com/2013/06/05/tragedy-in-texas-the-sad-story-of-the-von-erich-family/ These guys were on top of the world. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/202380-world-class-tradgey-the-von-erich-story ...

Bizarre

Because I had noticed raccoon scat on the roof, I started drawing this showing me removing the body of a raccoon.  I gave up on it and just colorized the bunny.  I wasn't even going to post it when something happened this morning.  I went to my smoking window and looked out and there was this: At first I thought it was Mingo and was getting ready to haul his delinquent ass in for some wall to wall counseling when the animal turned and looked at me and I saw the mask.  He was hyperventilating and I figured him for distemper or worse.  I called animal control, and when the officer got here this is what that fucking raccoon did: He sat up and looked at both of us.  The officer said that he was young and probably overheated and thirsty.  I apologized for wasting their time but delighted that he was not going to die under my window.  I like raccoons but lord almighty they can be destructive.  I got a good look at his hands a...

I Like Anthro Bunnies But-

Image
This is Schnuffel Bunny, a cartoon made to go with a ring-tone in Germany.  This abomination is so sickeningly cute as to attract my basilisk attention.  He has a girlfriend, Schnuffelellenchen. Obviously, I like anthro rabbits.  But when I use the word "cute" I am talking about kittens or sexual desirability.  These fucking things are a vision of what awaits bad furries in Hell. (Hmmm...great name for a band or comic book.  You read it here first). But by all means judge for yourself.  Enjoy! https://youtu.be/ps9e1vqOKtM Yep, there is such a thing as too many cartoon rabbits.

This is such a great picture! Above is the celebrated painting by Ceasare Maccari of Cicero denouncing Senator Lucius Sergius Catalina.  A distinguished military commander, he served under Strabo during the social wars.  He was a supporter of Sulla when that savage man seized power, and supposedly murdered his own brother in law and put his head at Sulla's feet in the temple of Apollo.  Prosecuted for this and acquitted.  Accused of adultery with the Vestal Virgin Fabia, a relative of Cicero's, prosecuted for that and acquitted.  Defeated in his attempt at being elected Consul, he began raising an army.  Cicero accused him of treason and conspiracy yet never presented a shred of evidence, indeed, holding up documents in the senate as proof, documents no one ever read except in book form.  Joseph McCarthy used the same method in denouncing mythical communists and for the same reason, acquisition of power through fear.  Indicted for treaso...

Tony

Recognize this guy? How about now?  (That's Mingo in the background). The planter is a direct copy of Martin Provensen's original design for Kellog's Tony the Tiger.  There seems to be enough differences to keep the manufacturers out of court but not much.  This is an excellent object and I am going to use him as, well, a planter! http://todaysinspiration.blogspot.com/2009/06/provensens-tony-tiger.html This article credits them both but my info is that this is all Martin's work.

A Stand In, Kinda

Billy promised to fill in today while his friend, E. Bunny, continues to try and make bail.  But Billy is scatterbrained and easily distracted.  What on earth is he up to now?

Mussolini And Violet

Image
This is a drawing I started for MichaelB303 on Fur Affinity.  He wanted something from the 1920s, oddly enough, but I used the concept I first had for my post entitled "The Monkey Bite".  I was trying to do something other than the Valentine's Day massacre or Floyd Collins.  I overestimated my abilities.  This was going to show Violet Gibson coming within one inch of blowing Mussolini's head off.  He snapped to attention when the national anthem came on, and she shot his nose.  In an act of great magnanimity, he ordered her returned to England where she would die in an asylum.  Her father was Lord Chancellor of Ireland.  She would now be classified as a paranoid schizophrenic, unless I miss my guess. This incident was the basis for the incredible denouement of  "The Day of the Jackal". http://www.irishcentral.com/roots/history/the-irish-woman-who-shot-mussolini-in-the-face The hat I have depicted is what Il D...
