Wrong Turn

General Kussin's driver.  Odd that he was armed with the standard Mauser rifle.  Maybe he was an ad-hoc driver.  His orderly was also killed.  There was a fourth soldier in the car, Willi Haupt.  He was killed as well.  The car is a sporty Citroen painted in cammy, a Traction Avant. (front wheel drive).  Pierrot le Fou was to use these in post-war France in a series of daring armed robberies.

General Kussin.  He has been scalped and all his medals are gone.  Remember, these were British soldiers, not U. S. Marines!

The junction today.

Fantastic scale model.

Thus did Market Garden get underway.

This man is squared away.

The paths of glory lead to here.

Rule Britannia.
