Fearless Flint And The Commie Rioters!

Image
Only decent lives matter.   We got plenty of humans on this planet, and those that don't want to obey the rules are invited to leave.  Shame that I have to go to a long dead comic book to post an example of common goddamn sense. Fearless Flint was drawn by H. G. Peter for Famous Funnies in 1942, and had all of 8 appearances there.  He turned into flint and had superpowers when he touched metal.  He gave off sparks and dressed like James Bama's Doc Savage. Showdown in Chicago! Stay tuned. Steve Holland as Doc Savage, James Bama cover-art shoot.  Steve is about 55 years old in this picture. http://www.paulbishopbooks.com/2017/08/steve-hollandthe-face-of-hero.html

Cosmo Cat

Cosmo Cat # 1,  All Top Comics - Fox Feature Syndicate, art by Ellis Chambers.  Dig this - http://cartoonsnap.blogspot.com/2010/12/eddie-elephant-1946-hallucinogenic.html Cosmo worked in atomic arsenal and set off a bomb, irradiating him with super powers, etc... etc... He has a base on the moon and watches over the Earth with a 'telefinder'.  Cosmo travels in a Cat Rocket powered by Blaster Beams.  He also takes Cosmic Catnip Capsules, as do I. Ellis Chambers, and pretty good at that. I'm Cosmo Cat, Mother-fucker!  No doubt. Cosmo will probably show up on the Doctor Phil show talking about this. This ran with Cosmo, Roscoe the hard luck bear. For cryin' out loud in church. Elf lives matter, folks.  Comic artists don't. Cosmo sold in Australia. Does anyone else find this odd? This out of context panel sums up perfectly how I feel about ol' Co...

Frost And Fire

Flight Sergeant William 'Billy' Bunny in his Spitfire Mark IIa waits to scramble with the rest of his squadron at RAF Biggen Hill, 11 Group.  Sgt Bunny smokes a forbidden cigarette and is a considerable discipline problem, but his score of 3 Jerries and 1 probable so far keeps him in action.  Before the war he was lumberjacking in Manitoba when he wasn't in jail.  He tried to enlist in the Finnish Air Forces under his real name, when deported from Finland back to Canada he made sure never to make that mistake again.  An old grade school buddy will be astonished when he reads about his own memorial service and list of honors.  This goes out to www.deviantart.com/razorbill1 , who probably wanted far more machine than rabbit.  But,.. .here we are.   I wanted to draw something like this. Or this... Or this.  But these are by Wally Wood, and I was under no illusions that I could g...

300 To Go!

Image
I started this blog in August 2012.  As of 9 AM today I have 300 views to go to hit a total of 200,000 visitors.  I think that's pretty good for someone who can't draw! Just a matter of time, I suppose. Nowhere to go but up. Truly, a day of days! (I could not find a still of the Comedian's coffee cup smashing into the door of apartment 3001, turning the numbers into 300.  I settled for the logo of  Zach Snyder's 300, not what I wanted but there you go.  Watchmen was realistic compared to the movie about Spartans in leather sex wear and no armor fighting 180,00 Persians). Bunny power. (8/31/2020, 11:36 AM.  I went over 200,000 last night).

Take That Pearl Flying Mutation The Long Return Kidnapped Back On The Road Better Way The Forest Primeval Doc Savage Collage Lom + Wint At some point I have to stop.  I have been talking with leothefox for not even a week, and I am blown away at this guy's range and ability.  He is a reader of early Sci/Fi, and of everything else.  I mean Hugo Gernsback grade reading.  I would say scholar but that is far too dry for such imagination as we see here.   I see much influence in this artwork, yet he has made it all his own.  His art nou...
