Injustice
Clay Lavern Shaw
Managing director of the New Orleans Trade Mart, Clay was a highly decorated officer in WWII, receiving the U. S. Legion of Merit and the Bronze Star, the French made him a Knight of the Order of Merit and gave him the Croix de Guerre, and the Belgians made him a Knight of the Order of Merit of the Crown of Belgium.
Clay was accused of masterminding the Kennedy assassination, and was financially ruined by District Attorney Jim Garrison, a man who was discharged during the war as mentally unstable and who on one occasion molested a young boy at a prestigious club in New Orleans. Oliver Stone slandered him very heavily in a piece of shit movie called JFK, Shaw was portrayed by the excellent actor Tommy Lee Jones.
Tommy Lee Jones as Clay Shaw. Jones is a great actor but his performance was a lie designed to make an unstable director's version of the horrible event look something like the truth, the movie is a paranoid falsehood from beginning to end.
Shaw's home at 1022 St. Peter St., Vieux Carre, New Orleans.
Shaw was vindicated and was suing Garrison and the the group of fuckheads called the Truth Or Consequences Committee, he died during the suit and Louisiana law did not allow relatives to continue such an action, a law that has been now corrected.
Clay worked to get John Kennedy elected. He was a major figure in the New Orleans business establishment. He was also gay. Garrison seems to have seized on this as he had no, zero, none, nothing in the way of evidence against Shaw. I recommend this incredible book to all and sundry-
There is not a dull page in this. You wonder how this could happen here. But it did not, it happened in New Orleans.
Things have always been done their way in Louisiana.

James Kirkwood also wrote A Chorus Line.
Very apropos.
New Orleans has always been a great town for fun. Mardi Gras picture from the 1950's.
From Blacksad, A Silent Hell.
Not right. Not right at all. The American Dreyfus case. Stone tried to make a big deal about Shaw working for the CIA. Shaw was a source for the Domestic Contacts division, where people who travel might know something of interest to intelligence. My dad talked to Domestic Contacts, and he was in Dallas at the time of the assassination, as was I. But yet,... no one ever brought up the fact that our whereabouts were never investigated or questioned. And, my dad voted for Nixon.
We're through the looking glass now, folks.
