And How Do You Like Your Blue Eyed Boy, Mister Death?

August 24 1964.  Clearlake, California.

Boxers and tugboat deckhands, the three members of the Johnny Burnette Trio were all Golden Glove champions.  This is an incredibly perfect background on the part of these guys.  Lot o' macho here.  Never mind being able to play on stringed instruments, an incredible thing to me to start with, but these guys are just as Rockbilly as they could get.  Johnny sang and played acoustic, Dorsey Burnette played bass, and Paul Burlison the electric guitar.

May 7th, 1956.  Pythian Temple, New York

The Trio.  Paul Burlison, Navy veteran, is, was, one of the great electric guitar players.  Is it "is" or "was"?  These guys quarreled a lot and split up several times but they sure were good.  The night of  Aug. 24 1964 Johnny was out in a small boat fishing when he was run down by a cabin cruiser.  I can find nothing else on this.  Johnny was thrown into the lake and drowned.  Dorsey never recovered from the shock.
Notice the term is "Rockbilly".

Together forever.

Tear it up!
