Baba Yaga

Classic Baba Yaga.  Ivan Bilibin. Here she travels in her mortar, using the pestle to locomote and sweeping her tracks away with a broom.

Another view.

Top notch.  Mike Mignola.

Her house is unusual.

It walks around on chicken legs, sometimes just one.

It has a fence topped with skulls around it.  Noah Bradley.

A steampunk interpretation.  Eli Bowes.

And here comes the innocent girl, Vasilissa.  She is the Cinderella of this story.  Pic by Sgorbissa.

A FurAffinity friend, https://www.furaffinity.net/user/michaelb303/, has suggested that Howl's Moving Castle, 2004, owes something to the Baba Yaga hut.  Why not?  A big shout out to MichaelB303 for staying on his toes.  Keep 'em coming, Mike!

This is from Kazu Kibuishi's outstanding Amulet books.  But mere walking houses do not a Baba Yaga make.  Christ, don't let me get started on other Russian nightmares like Koshei the Deathless or the Lada automobile.

Koschei.

Lada.

Why, this is just downright cheery!

Home again, home again, jiggety-jig!

Living the dream!
